water water everywhere!!!!!

took out the interior tonight (seats) and found that i have a wet drivers footwell and drivers side passenger one too !! got me an '83 1.1c checked the sunroof. the seal is a bit tatty but from what i could feel not really wet atall does anyone have any ideas as to where its getting in from ?? common problem ??

It's not uncommon for them to leak from behind the door cards best thing to do if you have area stipped out get someone in car and someone outside with a hose and this will check all areas but underneath hope this helps

yea i got a car cover already buy blows off all the time !!! its small too but still too big !!! think i will strap it down !!

yep strap it down bungie cords out the pound shop mines got blown off last week and wraped its self around my sky dish had to wait a week for sky to fix it now its well straped down

under the bonnet left hand side (cambelt side) follow the chassis leg all the way back to where it meets the bulkhead it slopes down a tad towards the floore.
just here there there will be a hole where from the factory they placed some of that fabric/duck tape over it, after time it got mucky wet etc and falls of. make sure this is there if its not tape it back up as this will allow water to run down the chassis leg and make its way into the car….. took me ageeeeees to find out where mine was leaking from in my cabby didnt find it untill i was jet washing the engine bay and a mate was inside tidying my dashboard wires.

if u have problems locating it i could grab a pic for u pm me if u would like pics.

your a star !!! will deffo have a look at this in the daylight thanx for everyones help very gratefull

got another place to check if you still havn't found yor leak i would have a look in your boot and see if it's wet my drives on a bit of a slope and this was happening to me when parked nose down the slope water was coming through the taillight on passenger side running though the bout and into the footwells.

yeah ive got that too !!! hoepfully  new rubber seals for the rear lights will do the trick !!  

Mines was an inch deep with water but I was told it could be the 2 drain holes at the front of the sunroof (when open near wind deflector) mite b blocked. check that out and get back to me coz  i havnt got round to doin mine yet

just found my waterleak, after stripping the dash out and front carpets it turns out it was coming in through these holes in the chassis legs couldnt see any holes the cambelt side, but after noticing the water seaping up through the floor in the passenger footwell i went round to the engine bay lifted out the expansion tank squeezed my arm down the gap to where the chassis leg meets the bulkhead, had a poke around and pulled off a piece of thick tape stuff (which is painted the same as shell) wot do you know…a hole about the size of a 2p   just going to make a patch out of plastic and silicon it up.

yeah thats where mine was coming from too only on the driver side tho !! stuffed a bit of rubber in it for now till i can get a propper bung !!!
