VW Info via VW HQ

Hi guys,

I've read a lot on the forums about calling VW's HQ to confirm your vehicles details, i.e. build date etc etc.

I'm interested in tracing my car's history, and I'm wondering exactly what info I can get from VW.

Does anyone know the info that they provide?

They can only confirm build date, options, etc but you can get all this info from your car anyway if you still have the production plate and sticker.

I have a partial sticker in my boot - about all that is legible is "17" but I knew that anyway…

Would it be worth putting something together for the site saying what the various option codes mean or is the list very very long?
