using por-15 in upper engine bay
I have carried out a number of repairs the the floor pan and rear arches of my mk1. So when everything was done I stripped to bare metal and used the por 3 step process on the complete underside and inner arches of my golf.
happy with the results.
I ve also done the lower engine bay.
Ive now stripped the engine bay itself back to bare metal and I was gonna etch prime it but i am now considering using por15 as my base coat. I would then spray a few coats of high build over this before colour coat.
They say por15 it can be used as a primer so Im really considering using it.
Any one ant thought on this?
thanks

I taught after sanding it back for a smoother finish and to give a key for the primer,
the primer would stick to it?
If not ill get the tie coat and hope that works.
Or ill etch prime it, high build, colour coat etc.. With bare metal, do i need to be getting some sort of protection on it as soon as possible? Its been back to bare metal for a wwek and is still nice and shiny.

Frost say that you can just key up por 15 with wetndry - I only discovered this after putting celly down onto por15 in my caddy bed then having it flake of about 3 months later.
