ugly gap under bonnet

he peeps, iv got a bit of a problem thats annoying me a wee bit, i have the spoiler thing that goes above the grill and under the bonnet, that kind of lips over the lights, now the problem is, there seems to be a gap under the bonnet making it so that you can see the screws that hold the spoiler on, the gap just looks ugly, the bonnet sits as it should because it is level across the wings. i would try and raise the spoiler up but as it curvs around the lights at each end it makes it so you cant.
should there be some kind of rubber seal or something that the bonnet closed down on to ontop of this spoiler or something??

thanks

Have you tried screwing down the bonnet stop rubbers, maybe they're set too high

well i could do that, but then the bonnet wouldnt sit correctly inline with the wings, its all level at the min apart from the gap under the bonnet

i haven't seen one that doesn't look like that yet mate. apart from blanking the screws off your stuck with it i'm afraid.

like this?

As said they all seem to be like that, however someone must have an answer as Ive seen some eyebrows fitted with no gap above them.

Im not sure on this though as I have yet still to get around to fitting my eyebrow.

my brothers old mk2 had the eyebvrow spoiler mounted to the bonnet rather than the grille..fixed the problem our mk1s have...

cant do that on a mk1 can you, because the edges of the spoiler go around the lights and under the wing, unless you chopped the eyebrow i suppose

depends which grille u go for, not all of them are cut out for the lights,

i know that you say the bonnets flush with the wings but have you tried to adjust the bonnet stops, even if the bonnet is 1 or 2mm lower it may just be enough to close the unsightly gap to something more appealing, thginks its just a case of playing around with the stops until you find an adjustment that you happy with with the gap and happy with on the flushness of the bonnet, sacraficing a small amount of the flushness maybe enough to sort the gap, failing that get your self down a scrap yard and get your self a rubber door seal that runs all the way round the door it doesnt matter wot car but the bigger and squarer the door the longer straight bit of section you have to cut to the width of the bonnet and try that dont stick it on just try and attach it temporary so you can see if it looks ok, it sounds like a bodge but i'v seen it done where people hav fitted grills & bumpers from other model cars and if you take your time and find the right seal cosmeticly it actually looks alright

You could try the bonnet seal from an audi 80 (F reg) it seems to do the job on them.  :y:
