trying to fit a golf gti steering wheel to my cab

i bought a gti steering wheel the one with four buttons on it , when took original one offf there seems to be a spacer on the spline , so am am trying to remove this spacer to fit gti one but can,t get the thing off any ideas please

Is it the spline adaptor you are trying to remove to fit, if so a friend of mine had success with a hub puller, different car though so it might not work

have you just tried to fit the wheel? ive just put a 4 button wheel on my 88 gti cabby and that went straight on

the new one is deffo smaller and will not fit

It's a very tight fit so heat, wd40(lots of) or a set of pullers will help massively.

Obviously be careful with heating as there is a lot around it you don't want to melt.
