Tonneau cover elasticated press studs missing?

Recently bought a tonneau cover off ebay, went to fit it today, and found that my (manual roof) cabby doesnt have the press-studs bits on the plastic behind the rear bench (as in number 3 from the photo below (taken from the buying guide) for the elasticated press-studs.

It doesn't even have holes for them to go in, it is just completely blank, with just the two screws showing. So I was wondering were the press-studs fitted to only those cars that were ordered with a tonneau cover? but more importantly will the tonneau cover be okay without the elastic pulling it tight or would i be better to retro-fit them?

Thanks.

Retro fit them, they just screw straight in wherever you want them, you wont see them with the back rest in place - I got a whole set of press studs (and fitting kit for the poppers) from C&H Fabric for a couple of ??s…

on mine i just hook the popper betweenthe plastic trim and the bodywork down the bottom, does the trick. as above easy to retrofit, from the factory these were riveted on.

You'll note the side trims have a little hole just below the stud, the earlier cover has a hook instead of a stud, the hook goes into that hole.
