teething troubles - gear box and roof-advice sought
well the cabby made the 400 mile trip from cambridge to ayr without a blip….but it rains on the west coast of scotland and ive discovered the roof leaks like its not there. anyone know of a fettler who can, well fettle to see if it will fit better….i actually seems to be too small!
oh - and anyone know why its a sod to get a quick change from first to second - is a gubbed synchro a common issue or have i got a major and unusual expense looming? :?
so far "Muttley" has had a full service, the wiring from a 1990's mobile phone brick pulled out, a temporary fuel cap (the "lockable" one fell off somewhere on the M6), and the near side front wheel seems a tad too wobbly to be a design feature. further investigation required there too.
the joys! good job its a blast to drive - kinda makes up for it

Second gear syncro is not uncommon to where on golf boxes, you could try adjusting the linkage a bit, does the clutch cable need adjusting ?,might make a bit of differance.

like baller said, its ot uncommon for the syncro to go, but change the gear oil for fresh, and stick a new gear linkage kit on it and it should improve no end
