Tailgate Smoothing Help!

Hi,

I'm looking at a respray but before I do i wanna get a couple of things sorted on the tailgate.

I'm not looking for a fully smoothed tailgate just to tidy it up a bit. If i was to remove the wiper and washer jet what would i do behind the scenes (meaning the wires for the wiper and hose etc for the jet)? I don't want to take it off and find out that i'm pumping water and electricity into cavities inside my car!!

remove the rear wiper relay and that'll stop any electrics going where it shouldnt, as for washer all you need to do is take the plug off the washer bottle in the boot
