Sound deafening
At present mine has been removed due to water leakage and I'd like to put new stuff back in rather than try to dry out the smelly damp original stuff
Any suggestions / reccomendations would be appreciated
Cheers,
Eck

The actual panels (as in correct shape) were dropped a while ago but ETKA shows self adhesive panels available for order. Just means you'll have to cut it yourself.
Pop down to your friendly VW dealer and they should be able to sort you out.

you want sound deafening?
Aye, you read it correctly, sound deafening….
What's wrong with that :dontknow:
its a term used all the time in the building industry, when refering to floor insulation etc… (reducing the noise transmission between floors)
deafening, deadening - its just a slip of the tongue….
like the other day when I asked my wife to pass the sugar and ended up saying, "You evil bitch, you've ruined my life!"

Aren't those self adhesive pads the black sticky material stuck to the floor panels, which needs to be removed with a low gun? Thinking about it, isn't that sound deadening :? stops panels drumming. Eck is after sound insulation which is the loose underaly type sections under the carpet.

Nope. The self adhesive panels are a direct replacement for the shaped panels (of sound 'absorber') which just slot under the carpet.

Anyway, gave them a phone today using the part number shown on the ETKA extract supplied by yradave (cheers dude) and they said the 'sound absorber' comes in a pack of 6 & costs ?74.10…. 8O
(part number: 323 863 950)
think I may just try the newton comercial stuff (?24.68 minus the club discount)
Suppose you get what you pay for tho…

323 863 950 is a replacement for items 4 & 5 in the diagram, the self adhesive stuff stuck to the floor. The bit's Eck appears to be after and that Newton Commercial sell are numbered 9 in your pic. It's basically underlay (not adhesive). Vagcat shows these as still available and lists no replacement, probably expensive from VW though.
