Small Dents

Hi,

Has anyone tried the halfords dent remover? It looks like a small pump…. Failing that whats the best way of getting small dents out of a panel theyre about the size of a 50p and theres about 4 of them.

Cheers,

Jon

To be honest I got a guy from Dent Devil to come round and he got some rods down inside the panel and 'rubbed' them out…..proffessional job, can't tell at all now.

Never tried myself but even though the guy made it look so easy it's one of those jobs I think you need a lot of experience to get right.

Best of luck.

It was a bit strange with the price cos when you call from the Yellow pages you get through to a national call centre and they said it would be ?90.

But when the bloke came I made him a cup of tea and a chocky and said those magic words 'how much for cash' and he said ?50….aparently the call centre have a standard rate and the guys decide how much depending on the work when they arrive.

Just make sure you work the cost out 'for cash' before they start working…..then get the kettle on!!!!

Sore point for me this. My advice is don't EVER park next to people carriers and always look if the car next to you in a car park has child seats in the back !  Kids jumping in and out of cars = dents. Hassled parents with pushchairs = dents ! (you can tell I don't have kids can't you ?!?). Next time you see a Vauxhall Zafira, have a look at how the rubbing strips on the doors end (ie, the end that opens outwards). Spikes that are just ready to put a dent in your car !!!
I used a local company similar to Dent Devils, but I took the car to them (my Mum's Clio actually - I was using it when mine was off the road). They charged ?30 per panel. I told them to find all the dents they could and take them out. Don't do this !  They went round with a UV lamp and picked out things I hadn't noticed before. Still, feeling guilty about the dents caused while I had the car I had them all 'rubbed' out. Very professional job and you'd never know there was a dent previously. Cost me ?90 in the end. I wouldn't even consider practicing on my own car……….
Cheers,
Mark

I park in a lidl car park every fortnight and you should see the state of a people carrier i regularly see  :?  i honestly do not know how she smashed it up so bad, looks like its been bouncing off a motorway barrier or simular, this kinda think makes you want a daily driver that doesnt matter so you can keep your mk1 safe

I'll never forget when some old far hag slammed her door in the side of my car (not the MK1, phew!) when she tried getting out of her sons immaculate XR3i.

She started tutting at me coz my car was in the way of her door!!! He just burried his face in his hands!
