Side Trim

Looking at fitting the earlier side trims that run down the centre of the car to my '89 cabby, is this possible??

Also what are your opinions on this, do most people prefer the earlier trim or not?? just curious, pretty new to this mk1 golf game.

Uses the same clips so can be done and in my opinion small trim looks better
