Series 1 VIN number mystery??Solved :)
I`v never had a ser 1 before so did they stamp the shell somewhere completely different to the ser 2?
Any help would gladly appreciated as i`d love to buy this car

Theres a chassis number on the left hand turret (from the front) and a vin plate on the slam panel to the left of the bonnet catch on my '80 s1.

The slam panel vin plate is missing and i cant see anything on the turrets either

Yes there is a V5 and its defo a ser 1 gti but like i said no identification marks.
I`ll have another look tomorrow but will pass on it if i cant find anything.Its a shame as the shell is in excellent order.

I found the Vin on the turret buried under layers of paint.Its defo a ser 1 gti as all numbers match the Logbook :
