screws around fuel filler

i will be replacing the panel and filler neck on my gti next week, it has rusted badly, the screws are all rusted out, i have a new panel and filler neck but have no idea of screw size or if they are self tappers or nut and bolt

Self tappers , you may have to drill them out very carefully .

go to vw dealership they still do the original ones plus you will want the foam gasket that goes between the filler neck and the panel just did it last week on mine and it cost just over a fiver, make sure you get a good replacement filler neck aswell i got a cheep one off fleebay and the fitment was shite resulting in the filler cap siting on a stupid angle i am now going to have to buy a new one again but this time i am going to get one from crazy quiffs...

the screw number from vw is +n 013 998 1  :mrgreen:

luke, i have bought a second hand one original vw from a damaged car so hopefully should have no problems. i dont think mine is that bad, i just didnt want to run the risk of taking everything off then not being able to put it all back together again

just bought some with gasket ?4.24, BARGAIN
