Unless its fabulously cheap and rest of car is A1 I'd go and find one that isn't rotten. Rust is like icebergs, if cills gone there'll be more rot and rust elsewhere. Lots of rust free cars out there even if they need work fixing mechanics is million times cheaper and easier than body work.

800 for a car with no MOT? 8O
Poss worth that with a 12 month ticket but without a few hundred quid.
Be very suspicious if he won't/can't MOT it

I had a cabby and it was strange - there was 1 hole which needed welding on the sill, but otherwise the car was in really good, rust-free condition. The patch required was approx the size of a 50p piece.

Agree with Paulc, my Cabrio is 99.99% rust free but one of the rear spring mounts was rotten :dontknow:
Still, be very wary of car with no MOT. Go halves with owner on putting it thru MOT, if it passes pay him his £780 and if not you have an idea what needs doing and can make an offer accordingly. At worst you will be 20 quid out of pocket, at best not lumbered with a rotten lemon

Quality!!! u should`ve shot right down there and bid him right in the ass with £200 with cash on you! frogmarched him back to his place, got the keys and history while he was `history` and got yourself a right steal,he would wake up in the morning wondering where the hell his car went and why he had a hell of a night and still had money in his pocket in the morning!Mike Brewer would even back me up on this one, milky teas!
