These pull the hood in at the sides, keeping it tight in at the door windows.
The hood looks poorley fitted and there are some unusual fitments at the front side edges.
Could probably do with Close up pictures to have a proper look.
usual drippy leaks from the hood handle latching area, can be you need new foam gasket seals and the "J" shaped hooks at the front tightening inwards to pull the hood forward for a tighter seal against the header seal.
there should be a bead of sealer arond the front screw hole under the first front side seals.
Make sure that the windows are adjusted correctley too.

The headliner stops short of the back window so you would see the inside of the roof material there. So that's normal.
Close up pics help diagnose the issues, so take a few of the inside headliner if you have any concerns.
Your not that far away from me, so if you want to pop over to derby I cab have a look see.

Hope you got home okay and nice to meet you today.
Just keep saving now for the new roof etc and all should be okay.
I have adjusted it as far as possible, but the hood is fitted twisted and wrong and with the split at the front there is no justification in trying to remove the hood only to cause furher damage.
At least the side cables go to where they should but they are too long for your year car.
New foam Gaskets fitted too, so hope that should help a bit.
Fingers Crossed LOL.
Cheers
