Roof Skin Swap

planning on getting rid of the sunroof on the gti by fitting the roof skin off a non sunroof model, most of it looks straight forward enough but i still dont know what to do with the gutter/channels along either side, trying to unfold the metal on both sides then fold it back over the new skin sound far too hard to get right imo, any help appreciated
