Rivage Owners - how are your window switches and roof switch

…mounted.

I was tinkering last night, puzzled why the window switches were not illuminated with the headlights on, yet the roof switch was.
Ok I must have a loom issue, easily fixed by splicing the G38 light track to the window switches.
What concerned me most was the way the 3 round gauge surround of the original trim was hacked to mount the Rivage facia 3 switch panel.

I didn't take a picture - but can do. I have plans to fit 3 air gauges in the cluster when I have air suspension fitted (sorry to the purists)… However keen to understand whether or not the gauge surround would have been butchered in the factory or by a previous owner.

- I'll add a picture at some point to help explain what I mean.

Yes mine too... I think electric windows were only an optional extra at the time.

Cheers Hugh.

The moulding for the console stayed the same, so VW didn't change that for the later cars when electric stuff came out.
So no point in creating new moulds just for that, so I gues they just cut out what went in the way.
I have seen radios fitted there also?

the electric window switches (should!) come on with the ignition, and the roof switch with the dash lighting :)

the oem panel just clips on the front of the console, when removed the 3 vdo holes should still be intact afaik

Power hood switch sits in the way of the VDO gauge holder hence why they are cut. all like it.

really? i had a switch panel with all 3 switches in mine and it never needed cutting. maybe i fitted it upside down
though, mine i think was a std golf console, and arnt cabrio ones a bit different?

edit: actually i didnt have the roof switch plugged into anything, is it the plug that hits rather than just the switch?
