Replacement carpets wanted for Cabriolet

Does anyone know where i can get a 2 piece carpet for Golf Cabby 1989, either a very good second hand one or a new one?

There must be somewhere u can buy them eh?

Mines is done in…..even the ants had a go at finishing it!

Whatever u do….keep ur carpet dry or risk ants in the woven stuff underneath!
I just bought the car & didn't expect the unexpected!

A couple of months ago there was an advert in the 'New Stuff' type section of VWm. The article stated that a company had begun to produce the carpets again. The magizine is in the loft a the mo but I will have a look later on. Probably February/ March's edition if anyone has one to hand.

VWm, April 2005 edition, page 58, top left states…..

'Newton Commercial' are now designing the Mk1 Golf carpets (as per Drews' post/link). Offered initially in this seasons ever fashionable slimming black, with other colours to follow soon. No prices at present.

Just sent them an email as there is no information or mention on their website regarding the Mk 1 carpets.

Does nobody have a semi decent set of carpets? no objections to cleaning them.

I'm also looking for the black rubber wing trim for drivers side, black centre console, and a couple of front door cards (grey with slight white cheque stitching) if any one has them.

Wish i had went to Biggar VW show now……lol

Wonder if they would do a different colour for a group buy?

I could do with a beige one or maybe dark red.

I had a look at them at Inters and i did think they fealt very thin, but they would be easy to clean i think and the fit was very good.

re depth of carpet - I reckon they'll be fine - sure you'll be putting down nice mats too

I just want a nice new carpet - my old one was used by the cat for about ayear so it resembles an old lady's hairstyle

I'm sure they do different colours now - I looked at their site a month or so ago and I'm sure I saw red….I like RED  

Had a look at one of these carpets at Inters' and  I personally didn;t like it. Call me finicky, but  to me the carpet was very thin and not to the same standard of the orginal MK1 job. Reminded me of the replacements you could buy a number of years ago that didn;t fit very well and shrank when they got wet. But thats just me being finicky over things  I suppose. Hopefully everyone else thinks they are better than what  I think.  :?

I have just recieved an email from Newton today & they are sending a leaflet out with their current Golf products to my home address.
