removing the front bumper, is it safe?

i've seen a lot of people removing the front bumper on MK1's and granted it does look better "sometimes" if its done correctly.

but my question….. is it safe?

Assuming you relocate the indicators on the car, the car without a bumper would only be marginally less safe. The real problem is that even a minor collision, would result in costly-to-fix bodywork damage.

No!  Managed to break the bone in my little finger while trying to remove mine 2 weeks ago after a bolt decided not to move until i put lots of weight on it and then it moved VERY easily! :x  Have since decided it looks better with the bumpers on!
