Remove matte paint

Hi I don't know where's best to put this.

But, how much would it cost to have matte paint stripped off a car?

Is it possible to do this yourself?

Would removing the matte paint remove the original colour underneath?

Thanks!

The non gloss/metalic stuff.

Alot of people DIY bad original paint work in it.

Matt paint. You can use a paint stripper like Nitromors or better still use Wickes' own brand,it's cheaper & works every bit as well. Do you realise when you apply this and it removes the paint you need to get it re-primed and painted.

Has the paintwork just faded ? If so you can apply some polishing compound and elbow grease

The car was blue originally and the inside wasn't done so I wanted to restore it to original. But I can't afford to have a respray.

It should just sand off like normal paint work. Id try that with wet and dry key it back down to the metal, coat with red oxide, prime and spray :)
