Remove cabrio roof????

Have a bit of rust treatment / welding to be done which leads from above the boot to most rear part of the cabrio hood, question is how do i slip up the rear part of the hood to undertake the work, surely i dont have to take the whole thing off.

any comments greatly appreciated.

I've just been re-attaching my hood.

You need to loosen the rear cable that runs all the way round the bottom of the hood to just behind the rear pasenger seats.

To get at it, remove rear bench seat, lower rear seat back, then unbolt the two attachment points for the hood gas strus (they are only under pressure when hood is folded down).

NB - Make sure you hold cable with pliers as you loosen nut, or you may twist the end off
