Rear window rust mk1 cabrio "HELP"

Hi all, after a little advice,
Just noticed that i have a couple of rust stains  on the parcel shelf of my 1993 mk1 cabrio, i've had a closer look and it seems to be coming from the metal housing of the rear window, just wondering what to do about it and how difficult/expensive it will be to do

OOO i had that on mine what colour parcel shelf you got? (not important just wondered) I just cleaned it off and put some anti rust on and it never came back, but when i put my new hood on i just replaced it (this was on my clipper) also put some black silcon on to stop water coming though.

The water seems to sit in the gulley on the bottom left hand side of the rear window, the parcel shelf is light blue( was probably dark blue to match the car 15 years ago!) will it be easy to change without removing hood

I think so not 100% though i think you can split the rubber and get it out funny feeling i read that somewhere.  :? sorry

Pop your window and rubber out, and clean up all rust then paint on some rust killer, and paint.

where can you buy a new frame from?

I think they are discontinued from vw?
