Rear wheel arches

Hi new to site and have a black 83 gti which needs the rear arches replacing. seen lots of subjects showing them mig welding in position. Has anyone use a spot welder to do the same job??

Nope .

Not much use unless you replace the lot in one go . Better to use a mig and grind / sand down the welds as you go . I have a spot welder and only used it for the top of the sills replacement and the front sills part . When you get to the narrow bit on the floor its no good with out tiny bent tips as there is only a few cms of room .

Mig you can't beat it ….
