Dont use normal superglue.
In some cases it can crack the glass.

Seen 2 customers cars with cracks around the mirror area.
Both of them had used a strong glue to stick mirrors on.
They can crack as the car flexes.
Quick search on google and you will see there not the only ones.

Just buy the dedicated glue and gauze that comes as a pack.

The Loctite adhesive is supposed to accommodate thermal expansion
"The Loctite Rear-view Mirror Adhesive Kit compensates for differential thermal expansion of parts and is therefore also recommended for metal vent window handles and hinges. "
see Halfrauds link above.

Big norm rivage is correct about the cracked glass caused by people sticking on rear view mirrors with superglue. I work for a Ford dealership and we had a customer come in with this.
Rear view mirrors are actually designed to fall off! This is for safety reasons when you whack your head against it during a crash it reduces the impact.
I wouldnt superglue it on iff I were you
