Rear Sub Frame Removal!

well another eventful day! today i removed the rear subframce along with the suspension and rear mk2 16v calipers!

those axle bolts are hell!!!!

an easy way to do this! if u want to?

Make sure u use axle stands or something solid to hold the car up!!!

1.first take the wheels off! using ur bolt removal 17mm

2. under the front of the rear wheels and remove the brake pipes!
using a 10mm and 14mm spanner!

3. now thats all the easy part!
there are two bolts 17mm on either side of the rear cross member which support the axle bushes, these are nightmare if rusted plenty of WD40 and make sure uve got plenty of strength!

4. finally remove the nut ontop of each suspenion stru and ur rear subframe should drop!

then you can dimantele it appropriately!

remove th e shockers and rubbers etc

dismatle the calipers and hub.

then for a final bit its off to the POWDER COATERS!

might get some new brake pipes made too! find out how much tho! ive already got braide lines!

will try and get pics havent got a camera yet or a decent environment doing all this on the drive!
