rear panel for 83 golf!

hi all,
i was looking at a post on here the other day in "restoration" and on a post i saw a pic of someone who had only the bottom part of a rear panel, so i had a look on euro car parts and found a couple but they were all above the 100 quid mark apart from one which was only 27 quid, part no. 817440241 i was just wondering if any one had bought this or knows anyone who bought one as their isnt any pic of it, :dontknow:  so just wanted to check before i buy and it turns out to be the wrong on.

good for local repair on the bottom only , but if you rear is very rusty i would go for a full panel .

thanks for that , that is the panel i was wanting as mine is only gone around the towing eye and the opposite corner.

does anybody know where i can get the panel from as euro car parts have apparantly discontinued it, also does anybody know where i can get some bumper irons (brand new) as these have also been discontinued.

Hello mate try www.perfectpanels.co.uk or hadrian as there known also.
You get a little bit more than the pic above and for less money.

VAG still do the bumper irons, but be prepared to stick you r hand in your pocket nice and deep though  :wink:

Yes it was 91-22-546 Rear Valance

But its gone from the web site , might be bad news ? Pop in to your local stockist and ask them , they should phone while you wait and have an answer . If not you may have to search Ebay , or look at a complete panel from crazyquiff on here ?

Parts situation on panels for our cars is getting worse !!

ive found a panel on ebay but its ?40 but i was going to get it anyway as the are out of production is that price alright or am being ripped off.

?40 seems steep to me but then a whole rear panel will set you back circa ?140 so maybe its a bargain for half of it?! :dontknow:

I've seen em go for less on ebay so keep your eyes peeled!

I sold this same panel last year for ?58.00 on ebay .

I purchased one for my Mk1 but then decided to replace the whole panel with one of crazyquiff new panels . I think from memory i paid ?21.00 for it so yes ?40.00 is steep but if thats the demand then ???
