Rear bumper removal

am i being a dummy?

trying to get the rear bumper off my mk1 gti but theres no space to get a spanner in the small void and turn the nuts?? am i missing something

There are no nuts, but there are 4 bolts which are accessed from within the boot. Access is a bit awkward on the left due to the wiring, but entirely possible.

your not the only one mate took me ages to work it out on the front

i remember years ago on my mk1 scirocco they were bolted from the inside so simple to remove - had a quick look in the boot of the golf and missed them - i never learn ha ha
