Re-sprayed plastic bumpers

I cleaned my bumpers with the proper stuff to prepare them for spraying.
This cleans all waxes etc off , I sprayed them with satin acrylic which was recommended, but am not happy as soom has flaked off.
Do you recommend any other paint or methods I can use ?.
  Thanks all ,Ali

Hi
After cleaning did you use a plastics primer? This is a clear coat of primer available at good paint suppliers that prepares the bumper for its primer and top coat and prevents flaking and cracking. If not, you will have to restrip the bumper and try again.

Cheers, Chudd.

Ali,

Use plastocote bumper stuff.  It chemically bonds to the bumper rather than just try to stick to it.  The job is a permenant colour change that will not peel or crack.

I've used it and it is fantastic stuff.

They also do soft plastic color that will allow you to change black to whiet or whatever - used in the classic car market quite a bit - and does not come off.

The bumpers I did were left outside all winter and summer and showed no hint of problems.
