Pattern rear panel or original ?

I'm having to do a repair to the back end of my MK1 .. Its been bumped up the arse  :banghead:
I have a friend that wants to do the work for me and he's suggested getting a pattern rear panel..
Just wondered if they where any good ?
Is the quality any good ?
And would I be able to tell the difference.

Generally speaking an original.crazyquiff panel will fit with little fiddling needed. A pattern part would need more prep work and some bending/shaving to get it to fit right. A pattern may also be slighter thinner.

Price difference is the main difference. If you can stump up for an original, do it!

I might be wrong but I think you can only get lower rear panel as a repro. If you want the full rear, but one of crazyquiff - it'll fit straight on and I don't think you can get elsewhere?
