panel prices

hi,

I'm looking for a new wing and front panel, anyone know where I can get good non vag panels, I suspect vag prices are very high?

The old girls going through it a bit at the moment, new inner and outer sill, the rear seat belt fixing point has rusted right through, the seat belt fixing came complete out with bolt, in my hand?

chasis has recently been welded, and when I have the new panels fitted and replaced I,m having a new scuttle repair section put in at the bottom of the window!

Never the less, I still smile every time I drive her… MK1 original and still the best.

I think "Brown Brothers" is a national outlet for Hadrian Panels (Perfect panels per above link).  They sometimes have access to other suppliers (Veng, Unicar, etc)

You'll get all your paint, fillers, etc from them also (let your fingers do the walking!)

in my experiance Hadrian wings are poo!! get yourself to Euro car parts for a decent wing, or you could  try GPC (search google for GPC vw) also VAG can be cheep on some panels so always ring them first, its deffo worth the price of a phone call!

i looked at a part from Hadrian , and it was more expensive than the Vag one!!!

How much do you want to spend ?

I have just bought a pair of genuine wings from VW ?183.00 !! The part number is for the Caddy and they come with no side indicator holes or bumper mouting holes so will suit all MK1's , but the passenger side has a hole for the antenna . Finish is top class and once bolted on can be painted with out any fuss.

Could have had a pair of patterns for ?78.00 !! The price of one genuine wing [nearly].The genuine wings are a fantastic fit as you would expect , the patterns good but fit can only be describe as good to average leaving large gaps around the window frame bottom and door and some filling where it meets the front valance . All pattern wings are from the same source , but i would recommend Hadrian / LMC for any repair or pattern panel as good … http://www.perfectpanels.co.uk/

Oh and the same goes for the front panel , nobody has had a bad word to say about the fit of the pattern one [for the price] .

I was looking at total spend on the panels at ?200. So if I stick to that I will be looking at pattern parts, however I may go up to ?250 if they are genuine.

I will contact VW on Monday, and post the prices when I get them.

GPC were doing a VAG front panel for about ?75 plus delivery but always have limited stock.

Hi there,

I called a local dealer today, sounded like I woke him up so he wasn't very helpful.

Anyhow, a wing including vat is ?101!!!!

I asked about the front panel he said about ?120, (inc vat) although he stressed it could be a little more than that given there are a couple to choose from.
