Opening front Quarter windows

I was just wondereing if anybody has any tips on fitting opening front quarter windows?

 I had a go at fitting ours today, and ran across a couple of problems, namely a difference in shape between the top of the current divider bar and the top of the opening quarter divider bar.

 To overcome this i drilled out the spot weld and removed the extra bracket, but even then it didn't seem to want  to push up far enough into the front of the window aperture, just wondered is anybody else had done this modification, and had any tips
