MOT or restore?

hi all.
 my 83 mk1 golf gl is getting to the point of no return. its due an mot in a couple months and i have the choice. i can either shell out the money to get it through that (probly gonna be shed loads. around ?500!!), or i could restore it.

problem i have is that i dodnt have anywhere to keep it except on the drive. also i was wondering if anyone knows of a specialaist around the oxfordshire area who could take a good look at the car and advise on what i need doing?

i want to keep it as standerd and as original as i can. any help and advice would be geat from you guys since you all seem to know a lot more about it than me!

Mot it , it will be easier to sell if you have to , once its parked up it may never move again !  

restore it when and if you have the space .
