Mohair roof and Cats!

Mohair roof and Cats!

I've got a new mohair hood I was going to fit to the cabby.
Today a cat was sitting on the vinyl roof and had left muddy footprints all over it. That's easy enough to clean off vinyl but I'm concerned that if they walk all over the mohair one they'll click it with their claws or worse still use it as a scratching pad!
I'm thinking I may have to stick with vinyl.

Has anyone had experience/ problems with this?

(Ideally I'd  shoot the cats but unfortunatley it's not an option  )

We  had problems with our cat getting on the mohair roof of my wife's cabriolet.

If you are getting cats on your roof and it's vinyl you will have more problems with mohair as cats find it more comfortable,we would look out in the morning and the cat's asleep on the roof 8O

Paw prints can be cleaned with old style washing powder that contains no bleach etc such as dreft.

Our cat did claw the roof ,left small marks on it,but they were not  that noticable

I'd agree with your last comment on shooting..

Other option is get a good breathable cover and cover the car up every night…

You can get a good breathable cover from motorserv for about ?20.  Don't know if there's cheaper, but it does the job well enough  :D

yes, shoot them
air rifle or maybe a catapult
don't smash your windows though

cats don't like citrus smells, but I don't know how you could get your roof to smell of citrus

there are sonic cat deterrent thingies you could try

or imune to the device…………

all you need is to borrow a friends dog…….(quicker the better) as soon as you see a cat on the car…..open the door and let the dog at them……..worked wonders for us…….mind you the cats dont have a chance against a greyhound lol

I can confirm that

THESE

actually work……
..it's been up for a week and NO CATS HAIRS, PAW MARKS for the whole week…

HOWEVER…..

….we did have a visit from 2 guys from Environmental Health this morning…..people walking past the house have complained about the intense high pitched noise affecting their kids and dogs as they walked past         (why did they not just knock on the door, instead of reporting us ???????)
…strange that this was only up for a week before action was taken, but the ******* dog on the corner has been barking for 7 years and no action taken after 7 years of complaining and reporting…!!!!!! :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:
