Mk1 seat cloth?

Hi

Looking to buy a Mk1 GTi…………………..but most that I look at have heavily worn seats.

I have a MK2 and I know this is a common problem, but……….can the black side bolsters be matched on Mk 1 cloth?  I understand that the original cloth is unobtainable now. Is the only answer a retrim and if so can anyone point me the right direction of a good upholsterer?

Jules- the best thing to do is go on the hunt for a passenger seat and use the bolster material to fix the Drivers seat. tis is quite a common thing to do.

Of you coudl always get the seats retrimmed in half leather ie replace the black cloth with leather  - a bit like the MK2 Rallye seats.

We're in the process of trying to find some matches on cloth, but this is gonna take some time to find some.  :wink:

Thanks for that. A good idea! I understand that after considering rust the interior runs a close second when considering a MK1.
