MK1 Interior Drivers Mirror

   

I know it should be simple but really worried about damaging head lining, can anyone tell me how to change the interior mirror on my 1983 mk1 golf gti cos i'm at a loss

So i'm just going to have to be brave!, do i twist clockwise? It looks like from the replacement part perhaps pull bacl towards handbrake? have a cup of tea and see what occurs then… :?

Happy days  :mrgreen: new mirror on just a good pull sorted it thanks Dom123, bad thing is some toe rag on ebay sold me one for a mk2 not mk1 same fitment though but smaller square mirror ahhhhhhhh.

I was in the same position, takes quite a hard twist/pull which is a bit daunting to do! Glad you got it sorted. I have a spare black one from my Mk1 if you want it? I have fitted a polished one to mine now, PM if interested!
