Plus 170 deivered is extortinate imo, more expesive than the main stealers but i suppose if they dont stock them anymore he can charge what he wants.
Ps i bought genuine front panel, both front wings and bonnet all from the main stealers as i have a mate who works there so there all still available, rear panel is a straight forward pael to ft s dont make any ods if its slightly out imo cause it can be made to fit 100%%

Alps-Pacino - All my prices are based on cost to aquire them, purchase, shipment and business runing costs plus a reasonable profit. My whole aim is to help keep MK1's on the road and that is why I originally sourced the panels. Have a look at my website at www.golfmk1.co.uk and you'll see a lot of parts that cannot be obtained from VW!
Give me a shout if you need one

But VW do still make just they only sell them in South Africa - for the Citi Golf. Crazyquiff is selling them for ?145 + ?25 for courier (about the going rate for such a panel). I paid ?120 for a genuine front panel from VAG - so ?25 over that for a genuine rear you can't even get in this country does sound bad to me :dontknow:
Of course a pattern rear panel can be made to fit, as I originally said welded panels can be fettled into place. Personally I would rather pay an extra ?100 and a have genuine, better fitting one made from better steel though. It's not like it should ever have to be replaced again.

I cant see why the main stealers dont stock them as there obviously till made i'll probably end up buying 1 for ?145 as all me other panels are genuine i got 2 wings front panel and bonnet for ?400 notes from the dealers which imo makes 145 for a simple back panel seem expensive, the front panel comes with cross member and is a lot more panel than a back panel which is just a flat sheet.
O well looks like i'll be getting me walle out AGAIN

?175-200 for a rear pannel aint cheep agreed but compaired to current cars i think its bargain.
I smashed the mrs 120 m sport the other week and the are chrging 300 for tiny wee plastic covers, so in comparison 175 quid for a main structural pannels is pretty cheep IMO.
