Mk1 driving light grilles

Hello,

Can anyone identify the difference between these two sets of Hella driving lights?  I got these from Germany.  Back in the early 80's here in the States you could buy the grille assembly that had the clear lens lamp with the blue Hella sticker in the middle, but I never saw the type of lens with the vertical grooves before.  Were these available for different years or do they have different purposes?

I am working on a 1978 Rabbit (Golf) 2 door sunroof diesel.

Any information on these would be much appreciated.

Im quite sure one set are ment to be fog lights a and the other set are driving lights.

Ones on the left are fogs.
