Lower side swage textured paint ?
Title isn't very clear but
do all mk1 golfs have textured paint along the bottom of the wings, doors and rear quarters ?
(refer to image for exact section)
The guy at the body shop seemed to think that it was supposed to be smooth ?
but i think its supposed to be dimpled ?
:dontknow:

Its supposed to be smooth, normal paint. The stonechip can be on the sill, on the underside horizontal area, but fades out as it curves to vertical. I imagine many Mk1 Golfs over the years, now have non-standard applications of stonechip or underseal though.

supposedly the car has original paint ?
however I've never seen an Atlas white series 1 with an orange interior from the factory.
So i wonder whether it was re-sprayed shortly after leaving the factory ?

I guess so
I suppose this stone chipping could have got lost over the years with most mk1's now being re-sprayed
