Leaking rear window on cab

With the April showers well and truly with us I have noticed that my cab has developed a leaking rear window.  I tried putting some sealant between the glass and rubber seal but to no avail. Closer inspection revealed that the metal surround onto which the glass is attached appears to be corroded, in fact disintigrating.  I think this is the source of the leak.  The rest of the hood is only a couple of years old, but the window and surround were a carry over from the old hood.

Is it easy to replace the old window surround? Or does any one know some body who can carry out this job for me in the Derby area?  I'm will be using the car for a fortnights holiday shortly (hooray) so it will be outside all the time, rather than in the garage. I'd like to get this sorted before I go rather than bailing the car out every morning (the weather in Cornwall can be pretty dire at times!!).

Any advice would be greatfully received.

Cheers

Rich

A new frame is ?200 from GPC….so most people don't bother replacing it when the roof is replaced…..FALSE ECONOMY…!!!!

I think it can be done easy, just hope that the new frame lines up with the 'hole' and there is enough material left to staple the material to the frame. Make sure that the new frame is liberally coated with hammerite….

Owning a Mk1 cabby is a vertical learning curve…

Thanks for very thorough response, it is appreciated  I phoned GPC earlier today, the price is pretty much as you described. I need to get saving.
