Indicators not the same

I noticed the other day that the indicator lenses on the clipper and later cabrios are deeper than the older type for small bumper models and presumably the same for Beetle they were fitted to etc…..My VW Iltis included.  Never knew……I almost bought the wrong type on ebay….

Had same issue, bought some clear ones only to find they don't fit on big bumpers (1992 golf clipper). Sent them back but still trying to work out where to order 'big bumper' ones, any ideas?
