hydraulic roof question
ive recently purchased a second mk1 clipper off flea bay, to cherry pick the good parts for the older mk1 gti.to make one good, and one not so good one out of the two
the clipper comes with a non functioning electric(and leaky) roof, for some reason the switch had been disconected at the dash, so when i reconnected it i was quite pleased to hear the motor wiring( very slowly) but not up 'n' down action, on closer inspection the spare wheel well is full of a milky oily goo, like melted treacle, which may be from something else thats leaked in the boot during storage, because i cant see a leak in the pipes/ reservoir, and when i undid the three sided bolt on the top(which i assumed was the filler plug) fluid leaked from out of the two halves, before i quickly tightened them back together.
any ideas on how to diagnoze or check the fluid level 8)
sorry but my topless fun is usually, dare i say it aircooled and tax free
