How to remove decals

OK guys i'm not saying this method is set in stone…. but i've tried another method recommended by a guy who sells decals and it works better than that…

pick your day to remove the decals with care..

A nice sunny autumn day, not to hot, not to cold, just enough to warm up the paint work on your car. (so your car feels warm, not hot to touch)
i'm saying this because your not going to use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the glue on the decals,,, in my experience there is no need and i used this technique on my bonnet (to remove a 2 ft tinkerbell, thats right, tinkerbell) and it was incredibly difficult to get the temperature right, too cold and the decals just snapped and tore and there was a chance that the glue would rip the paint work off. to hot with the heat gun and it lifts the paint off the bodywork, (a mistake i will not make again)

anyway
1. start by pulling away a corner of the decal, just enough so you can get hold of it with the tip of your thumb and index finger (the pics don't match up exactly but you get the general drift)
then with the sticky side of the decal under your fingers slide the decal back on itself to ensure the least amount of up lift from the paint work
see below

continue to slide the decal back on itself, slowly! slowly!
if it takes all day, it takes all day and thats the way it gonna be!

at this ponit you will feel the urge to pull it like so..

the decal will just stretch and snap.. and probably pull off the paint

the trick is take your time, on larger bits (it looks like i'm pulling this bit but i'm not, well i am but only for the photo),,
rub the decal away like in step 1 little by little.. this bit has torn but just start again slowly

after its all off you'll see what looks like score marks on the paint work…
don't worry the people who put the decals on haven't cut them out on your car (well pray they havn't anyway)

get a little bit of gluegone, or petrol and rub off these marks.. its just dirt and glue.

and bobs your uncle, fannys your aunt!

you've removed the decals from your car!

any question pm me

thanke BENKENOBI!

Or use a steamer, bought a ?20 one a few year ago, removes tints of windows in one piece, without leaving any glue and will do the same for your decals
Perfect for jobs like this and in no way any damage to your paintworkand you can use it anyday of the year
