How to remove and renew outer window scraper seals?
Hi ladies and gents,
Just bought a new O/S front outer window scraper seal for my cabby but can't work out how you get to change it?
Have removed the door card but I am left with a long black strip which goes along the top of the door and over the door pin, does that come off somehow?
I can see into the door where the glass is and there seem to be some retaining clips which hold the seal in place but can't work out how to get in?
Any help most appreciated, cheers guys,
J

90% sure that they just clip off if it's the exterior you should just be able to pop up with a flatblade the retaining clips are quite brittle but are avaliable on ebay.

Ahh, yes just figured it out, just literally remove the metal rail with a flat bladed screwdriver.
Cheers fella, never done one before and at £30 a pop won't be doing them unless I really need them!

I got them from bigboystoys or vwh2o, there is a banner on the left of the page mate.
I do believe that they are designed to work without the original VW metal insert strip which you remove though as I could not work out how to refit it using the metal strip but without it fits quite nice. Has anyone else fitted these replacement seals???
Looks a lot better as my old seal was down to the metal!

Hi mate,
These are just clipped into the door top slot.
You don't need to remove anything.
Just prise them up they are held in place with clips.
