How to fit VAG windschott/wind deflector

Hi all,

I just bought an original VW windschott (wind deflector) from eBay.de and it has arrived…but with no extra fittings as I was expecting. Does anybody know how these  deflectors should be fitted and if so which parts I am missing?

I though initially it went straight down from the roll bar and attached at front of the rear seat base, however now I've got it I think it might be designed to fit at 90 degrees and attach to the top of the rear seats…  :dontknow:

The guy I bought it from speaks no English and my German isn't much better!

Cheers,
Meenrod

Can I asked how much you paid for it?

It's a cover which as far as he's discribed to me it attaches over the dash and covers the top when it's down to you can leave the roof down when it rains.

Kinda like the old sports cars I'd imagine..

Know exactly what you mean, I used to have one for my Elise. be interested to see yours when fitted.

Well in that case, I'll need to post some pics about the rather tasty German market Sportline steering wheel I have also recently purchased…

Genuine VW, 3 spoke, red trim, black leather. Don't know why the UK Sportlines didn't get them.

Thanks Prowler, mine seems a bit different from yours and I'm not sure mine is meant to go over the top of the rear seat, I think it might straight down into the footwell.

Annoyed it doesn't have instruction/fittings.

I believe this piece of equipment is called "a tonneau".

I've never seen one for a Golf, though.  Usually they are for cars where (all) the windows wind right down to the sill.

Post a photo of it in place?

Geor I've never fitted it as you have to put press studs into the dash, if I ever do, I shall post photos :)
