How to attach chrome side trim???

Basically i have got a 6 piece chrome side trim set for my 3 door mk1 tintop. I dont have any holes in the groove where the trim is suppose to sit so i was wondering whether there are any alternatives to drilling holes? I was thinking using silicone but not really sure? any advice would be awesome…
cheers  :)

Number plate tape? They use it to stick on number plates etc.
You can get it on a roll too. Or use tiger seal or slika flex as these are used to stick on body parts like kits etc.

If I was u mate just pull the door cards off from the doors and the from the back where the back seats are and u should see where the wholes are on the inside of the car and how they are filled over, when mine was filled over there were only done with silicone and I just pushed the silicone through, also u cud take the wings off and do the same with those but if they are welded then use got a problem, hope this helps

the chrome is hollow on the back face so the only way you can do it with any chance of staying on is with the proper clips unfortunately
