How can I remove creosote from paintwork??

My next door neighbour has been spraying his fence with creosote (or whatever is legal these days), unfortunately he has also spray my MK1. Has anyone got any ideas apart from violence!!!??

This happened to me a couple of years ago when my neighbour painted his fence with creosote and got more on my bonnet than anywhere else.  :twisted:  Petrol on a cloth took it off.  It will take your polish off too but the paintwork will be fine.

To be honest, I'd get him to pay for it to be taken somewhere and professionaly done, that way if anything damages the paintwork there is comeback. What a wazzock.

1989 MK1 VW Golf GTi Cabriolet, 'All White Edition' - currently having a new blue roof fitted. Yes it's not white but it requires less Cif to clean :)

A Claybar and lube, like the megs clay kit available from halfords will lift it with little drama. This clay is mild too so shouldnt induce any marring as long as you keep it well lubed.

Check if it is creosote with him first as all the new stuf in the shops is waterbased!!

But a claybar will be your best bet
