hood replacing

Hi. I've just bought a new hood for my 1980 gli cabriolet but when i came to fitting it the brackets were slightly different to the one i'm replacing. could this new hood be off a later model does anyone know? does anyone have any advice on how i can change the brackets to make it fit?

the brckets you are talking about are they the ones that go onto the back panel if so you can change them have you still got the gas rams and brackets for them off your old hood

i have changed the brackets at the back. I removed the gas rams from the old hood but cannot find anywhere to attach them on the new one. they were attached to brackets that looked like they were welded onto the old hood and without these in place it is causing the area above the back window to sag. i'll try to upload some pictures

where abouts are you ive a full hood frame here going begging
