Help
Question. What the hell are they talking about and can these metal frames be found and where?
Any help very much appreciated.
Thank you

It has a plastic insert into which the hood material is stapled into, the rubber seal that goes around the glass, then sits into the metal frame.
These rust away around the lip, so the seal has nothing to grip against, thus cannot refit the rear window.
That's bad news I am afraid.
no longer available from VW.
So you have options second hand off the E Bay.
PM Funkstar to see if he has a reasonable one.
Or Crazy Quiff has them new repro stainless steel, he has a tile on the left hand side just click it and go to his website.
They were about £300.00 from VW.
I have seen a couple on e bay.

Check this out on Crazy Quiffs website and if you can get your old rear frame work to them also they will give you £20 off so the whole thing will only cost you £105 which i guess isnt too bad at all

I am sure funk or CQ would post out to you.
If you win the one on ebay listed in Derby.
As I am in Derby, if they won't post I will pick it up and post out on your behalf.
You would obviously need to reimburse me the P&P.
Have you got a pay pal account?
It's an easy way of transfering money?
trouble is it will take a bit of time to get to you either way. :dontknow:

So you would need a frame without insert and will have to remove yours from your old frame.
I did this with a scraper, you need some patience.
You will need to Glue the old insert into the frame with TIGER SEAL.

It will hold it good and proper.
I clamped mine down whilst it went off

Apparently its rusted beyon repair so it needs to be a new one. I found the one on Quiff, but they are out of stock of just the frame you have to buy with a liner, and getting the old one back from here wouldnt be worth the 20 quid. Ho hum. Maybe they have old stock at the local dealer!
Cheers all.
