HELP.....Removing Sound Deadening in Foot wells.
Im not entirely sure what VW used in the foot wells, bitument type substance?
Either way it doesnt submit to my dreaded wire wheel shod grinder.
Any one know what the hell it is and how I get rid of it?
I have read a resto thread in the US using dry ice to freeze it and then brake it up with a hammer??? Advisable? And were on earth would i get dry ice?
Cheers in advance.

I used a heat gun and a scrapper. Heat gun softens it slightly and it scrapes up pretty easily. Then used a grinder with a wire wheel to get the remaining bits off. Cleaned it up a treat.
