Help removing rear window winders please! (Pic included.)

I want to remove my rear door cards on my 1990 Golf Cabriolet to replace the rear speakers but can't get the window winders off! We've tried the methods mentioned in similar threads with no luck, where are we going wrong?! Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you .

Hi, thanks for replying. The main problem is that we can't get the black plastic handle off to reveal the all important screw! Tried easing it off with a screwdriver but didn't want to damage it. How did you do it?

I used a wooden spatula  :redfaced: to prise the plastic cover off the metal handle (not the center of the plastic cover but the larger outer bit) If that makes sense?  The plastic is probably a bit stiff with the cold weather at the mo
